Laura has been a presenter for the Cayuga County office of Tourism's matching funds workshop, the Cooperative Extension's Small Business Series, the Women in Business Network and the Cayuga County Arts Council's "Art is Your Business" Conference. She acted as Master of Ceremonies for the Central New York Home-Based Business Conference and was interviewed on National Radio in 1999 for the "Entrepreneurs: Living the American Dream" series.
Laura was recently honored for her business accomplishments and civic leadership by being presented the Syracuse 2000 "40 under 40" award. Coburn also received the Northeast Economic Development Conference "2000 Superior Award" for her work on Auburn's Historic & Cultural Sites Commission brochure, as well as the award of "Excellence" for her print materials promoting the Fort Hill Square project. Also, in 2003 Coburn was credited with Art Direction of a winning entry by The Syracuse Ad Club in the category of outstanding color photography. Brochures designed by Coburn have twice received The New York State Economic Development Council's "Best of Class Award" for Tourism Promotional Materials. In 2002, Coburn received the "Chair's Award" from the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on its board.
Along with serving on numerous boards in the community, Laura donates her time and talent as a presenter for e-marketing seminars and just recently presented a seminar to members of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce on the importance of branding your business. In 2006, she joined a fellow colleague and presented for the Emerging Entrepreneurs Series in Syracuse.
